PURPOSE
To provide Quality support to the E2E Quality alignment of internal R&D, contract manufacturers, material suppliers, and test laboratories to Burt's Bees high quality standards. To ensure the proper coordination and maintenance of all data and documentation required to ensure acceptable quality of processes and products from internal customers, contract manufacturers (CM), suppliers, and testing laboratories.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate new product development quality design by ensuring that key quality and process attributes are identified early in the process.
- Develop and approve preliminary and final specifications for new products.
- Ensure that a complete understanding of product/process parameters exists and are reflected within the specifications.
- Coordinate contract testing requirements with contract laboratories. Ensure that all required regulatory information exists prior to scale-up activities.
- Secure quality agreements with suppliers and contract services.
- Work with Project Management to ensure that quality requirements are met up front as key milestones and decision steps within the development and launch process.
- Work with Process Engineering to ensure that all required process risks are addressed during the scale-up process.
- Complete ownership and accountability for quality assessment of new/reno projects prior to launch.
- Evaluate new product stability data to understand process scale-up and product launch risks.
- Lead investigative teams pertaining to quality issues requiring resolution during the development process.
- Perform periodic audits of contract manufacturing and testing companies to ensure compliance to regulations and BBI standards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow all GMP and safety regulations and procedures.
- Support Quality Department Training Program by providing periodic training to employees.
- Report issues to the Quality Senior Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM RECRUITMENT STANDARDS Bachelor's Degree in science or engineering discipline with at least 4 years experience in a function relative to manufacturing, quality assurance, process engineering, or project management. Basic Microsoft computer skills are required.
